In The Cave Of Hira
In the Cave of Hira begins with a relaxed Blues repetitive theme as the choir sings of Muhammad's constant prayers. This turns next to a series of illahis (il-lah-hee) praising God. The music shifts suddenly with the appearance of an angel! Musical parts of distributed between the choir and the soloists as both are responsible for story and praise. In the Cave of Hira can be performed with either orchestra or piano and flute.

Text For: In the Cave of Hira
Day after day,
In the cave of Hira muHammad prayed
Day after day, muHammad prayed
muHammad prayed
sub Haana kallaa Humma wa bi Hamdik.
Glory to Thee, allaah and to allaah give praise, give praise.
sub Haana kallaa Humma wa bi Hamdik.
sami'allaahhu liman Hamidah,
allaah hears the one who praises allaah
When suddenly, after many a day,
Suddenly, there appeared to muHammad
an angel from allaah.
And the angel from allaah cried, “muHammad, Proclaim!”
muHammad relied, “I have never proclaimed.”
And once again the angel from allaah cried, “muHammad, Recite!”
With rapt intent muHammad asked, “What am I to recite?”
Swiftly and powerfully, the angel from allaah embraced muHammad,
“Proclaim, Recite!
In the name of allaah who created all,
created man from a clot of blood.
Proclaim, recite: allaah is most generous who taught man to write,
Allaah is most generous who taught man what he did not know.”
Day after day,
In the cave of Hira, muHammad prayed.
